Snap might have flown a bit too near the solar in its growth of the palm-sized selfie drone, Pixy. Following a late-April announcement, the social media agency has already begun pumping the brakes on the challenge, per a Wall Avenue Journal report. CEO Evan Spiegel has apparently relayed the message that the {hardware} is one causality of re-prioritization, amid broader financial issues.

All is not misplaced for the product, precisely. Snap will apparently proceed promoting via its already current restricted stock of the $250 machine. The corporate declined to supply a touch upon the report.

The agency hasn’t precisely been a {hardware} powerhouse. The Pixy joined the corporate’s Spectacle glasses, which have been one thing of a combined bag – although the product lately shifted from the novelty of face-worn cameras to a product centered on the burgeoning AR class.
