Newly updated analytics are coming to Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams will get updated analytics capable of new insights that admins will be able to access, starting this November, according to the latest entry in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap.

The new analytics are not surprising considering Teams is getting a bunch of new features next month, including the hotly-anticipated Copilot. Microsoft announced recently that the new Teams, also dubbed Teams 2.0, will become the new desktop client for the app, from now on.

With the announcement, Microsoft also unveiled a new Teams for Education, that is separate from the general version and more suited to teachers, educators, and schools. The new updated analytics will come to the Teams for Education too, and if the roadmap tells us anything, is that they will be very useful for a plethora of education tasks, as well.

However, these updated analytics are only available to Premium tenants, and users, and they can only be accessed through the desktop platforms.

For example, there will be:

  • Analytics covering average lobby wait times for scheduled vs. on-demand appointments.
  • Updated analytics covering the percentage of appointments completed after the scheduled end time.microsoft teams virtual analytics
  • Analytics covering the percentage of appointments with a late start.
